We made it into eastern Ohio our first evening on the road because after packing the shipping container and cleaning the house, we didn't want to start the trip exhausted. So, we stopped in St. Clairsville, OH...the location of Millyellen and my first date in 1998 for anyone interested in a fun fact! The next morning, we headed to Millyellen's mom and her husband's home north of Dayton. We connected with them, rested in their company, binge watched the Food Network, and hunted for the plentiful morrels in their fence line, which made for a tasty treat (see photo)! The gentle rains during our day and a half nourished the soul as the lilacs burst with fragrance, and the red buds popped with color. It was the first time we just sat and talked without pressing deadlines looming. It was a true blessing, and we are grateful for their hospitality.
